1. Cultural Inspiration & Dial Design

The defining element of this timepiece is its hand-carved, multi-layered dial inspired by the Aztec Sun Stone (the monolithic calendar used by the ancient Aztec civilization to chart time and cosmic cycles).

• Central Figure (Tonatiuh): Located at the very center of the dial is a relief engraving of Tonatiuh, the Aztec Sun God. His stylized claws reach out toward the 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock hour markers.

• Mythological Eras: Surrounding the central figure are the depictions of the “Four Suns”—the mythic worlds that existed prior to the current era according to Aztec mythology.

• 20 Day Calendar Glyphs: Ringing the outer dial are 20 distinct symbols from the Aztec calendar, each intricately sculpted in 18K gold. These symbols represent natural elements, animals, and sacred concepts:
